So the other day i got in my car to go out for a drive, let it warm up and all like normal. I finally get going and I have no power, the car is moving but i when i step on it there is no power, and I'll admit I didn't notice the CEL right away. Anyway, I get it home and have my buddy come over and scan the car, and the code was P-1507 Idle something or other. We then take a look at the engine and there is no coolant in the reserve or radiator(that we could see). So we add coolant and think the problem is solved. So we go out for a drive, get a bite to eat. The car seems to be good, no CELs and has full power. So I do for another drive in the car,(it just had snowed so I wanted to have some fun) and I'm out in a part of town where there is nothing and I have alittle fun and then i notice that my heater wasn't heating up at all. I looked down and I was on the H. I didn't want to shut the car off, seeing I didn't have my phone and it was snowing out. So i drove VERY slowing and at low low rpms until I was around houses again if I could get the car started again. Anyway let it cool down and the drive home and it overheated again on the way home. So I get home and check the coolant reserve tank and its empty and there is coolant everywhere, battery and all over the reserve tank and below.
I finally got another look at it all again today. I haven't driven the car since that night before, but I had filled up the coolant to see if it was leaking when just sitting there. NOPE. So I let the car warm up again today, after about 25minutes of warming up and not over heating I go for alittle drive again and sure enough about 5-10 minutes in the car over heats again and the reserve tank is overflowing.

I'll be honest I'm not the best mechinic but I have an idea with somethings. WHAT IS WRONG? I can't figure it out.

BTW the headgasket was done at about 32k by other owner.

Thanks in advance

Now this is what I have done to fix the problem.
I sent my car to a shop in my area that does work on subarus, not like turboxs, just normal subarus. Anyway, they were going to diagnose my problem and start ruling things out. After all the things they did the came up with that it was my radiator, they had done a pressure test and found a leak. They estimated it at $600(parts, labor, install and coolant flush). well just because i bring my car to them doesn't mean i'm that stupid to give them $600 for something i can do for $60(which i did). Anyway, got the radiator in and coolant back in the system, and get all the air out. let her warm up and got the temp good. Well, i finally got her out on the road. drove about 2 miles and everything was good. then slowly the temp was creeping up. I shifted into 5th and drove for about 300 yards at 1500 rpms to park and let her cool down. Before i got to the parking lot the temp went back down. So i floored it and the temp went back up. So i pulled into a lot and got out to checked the overflow tank and no overflow but the coolant was higher than it should be. Anyway, let it cool down and then drove home and i'm lost with what is the problem.

Sounds like you need to replace the Head Gasket at 121K too

I said it in the other thread, and I'll say it here...........sounds like a HG (or 2) have gone again.
And again, it was so long ago that it may have been done with the original 3 layer HG's.
