Talking Coilovers 1 month on

Feedback on Legacy Estate with home fitted Coilovers

Front - Bilstein Shocks with 10.5" 300lbs/in springs and 4" 40lbs/in flat helper springs
Rear - Bilstein Shocks with 12" 250lbs/in springs and 4" 30lbs/in flat helper springs

Leagcy GT-B with 19/18 f/r sway bars, 215/45zr17 Goodyear F1 on Subaru 17*7 wheels

0 degrees Toe all round and -1 degree camber on the front

Handling -
What can I say - wonderful! - Car has far more grip and speed around corners, very flat (little roll) and great feel, very stable

The understeer has disappeared almost completely and the car has become very neutral upto the limit, here the rear is the first to want to go, but the difference in feel is incredible, you can tell exactly what the car is doing (as though your seat is directly attached to the tyre)

In the wet the car feels as though it has less grip, and is starting to slide earlier but is very communicative (Less grip is probably relative, because I'm sure I'm travelling faster than before)

Ride -
Not bad, feels firmer, but controlled (mostly - see below), Can be very hard on drain covers etc

Noise -
Very noisy to start with, I have installed 1mm rubber washer(?) between the top of the spring ant the top seat, this has made the suspension much much quieter, still noisier than the original but not obtrusive.

Downsides -
I feel the car is too low at the moment because on very rough roads at high speed I seem to be hitting the bumpstops (I didn't cut these down), so I will be raising the car a few mm to counteract this until I take the struts apart again to fit shorter bump stops
Tyres, the suspension really encourages you to throw the car around, so the tyres will probably not last very long
