Default Intake Alternative for the 2004 N/A

If you have a 2004 Impreza and you've tried to put a Cold air intake on it, you've found out one thing very fast, it makes a squeal louder than a coaches whistle. Something about the plastic intake manifold just makes it scream.

Here's my solution:

Materials:
97-99 Impreza Silencer Box that attaches to the throttle body.
(2) 1/2 NPT Male Hose Barbs
(1) 15" Section of 3" ID Exhaust piping (Length depends on size of filter)
(1) Universal 3" Cone filter
(1) 3" to 2.5" silicone Reducer

It growls like an intake should, minus that awful squeal. Mine is just a prototype of sorts, but you can make it look a little more pretty, mine just functions as it should.

I'll post instructions if anyone is interested.

What throttle body spacer are you using?. Who makes it and what are the benifits (besides the intake velocity) Gas mileage, smoother parts in the power band, (wherever that would be)..

Thanks

Well i emailed him (1320) so hopefully these are still available.. Otherwise i might think about making some up myself.. Then i could sell them also.. Sounds like he had some bad luck with his guy (machinist), which is too bad really. Its hard to find people now-a-days that are fair.

So piker, you like the spacer I'm gathering? Worth the $150 or is the money better spent elsewhere?

its not 150 i believe he lowered the price

honestly i would not bother making them, its such a hassle as you can see with many of the posts in any thread regarding them...i guess theres no such thing as trying something out to see how it works

i liked it, would buy it again
