Question Maf / 2.5 Rs

So my g/f owns an 01' 2.5RS and we took it to get the oil changed today... The mechanic comes back out and asks "why I took the MAF sensor off when the SRI was put on". Well she bought it like that...

Seeing how i own a mitsu and know little about the engine on the car... I would assume the Mass Air Flow sensor would be req'd or the CEL would come on and the car run crappy...but i could be wrong... figured I would ask the people that know best.... it is supposed to be like that or did the guy that had it last do a hack job and put on some random intake...??

01 2.5RS does not have, nor did it ever have, a MAF sensor.

it has a map sensor

sounds like your "mechanic" doesnt know this car very well.
