Default 2.5RS no spark...fuel pump relay clicking

Hi all,
One morning when I went to start my car I would not fire. It cranks, I put a new relay in and I checked the fuel press...Ok pump works, I did not get spark however. I checked resistance on coils looks fine. So I tried to link up to my ecu with the hand held diagnostics tool....no link! Did any one have this problem before? I had the same symptoms, relay clicking car cranks, 7 months ago and relay fixed it (or I thought so). Is it my ecu? HELP!

No it is the relay that controls the fuel pump. It's located under the dash driver side on the side, next to the main relay. There is a bracket there with three relays...fuel pump, main, and rear accessory power suply relay.

Check the fuse box under your hood. Sounds like your having a problem identical to mine. SBF #2 or #5 is probably blown out. After extensive research into my issue, I learned that SBF #2 connects to the fuel pump relay, main relay, ecm, AND ignition relay on my car. On other cars it's SBF #5. My car has been out for 3 weeks because of it...

It's probably a bad relay. If you unplug that relay so that the fuel pump doesn't run you won't get any spark either. I just figured that out last weekend when checking my coil.

Be sure you are under sufficient light (preferrably sunlight) and look very closely. You may notice that one of the fuses i mentioned has a matte finish while the other is shiny. Electrical problems are a biatch to troubleshoot/pinpoint.

I replaced it (fuel pump relay) and new one was going on and off just like the old one...are you talking about a different one? I cranked the car with the new relay in and got no spark. Are you saying to crank it with the relay out of car?

Just to let you all know it was a computer issue. I just got one from a junk yard today for $60 and RS started right up.
