Impreza GC8 Looking for More power out of my 2.5RS

I have a 2005 2.5RS sedan Black. I looking to do some N/A tuning to this beast.
So far I have the new Injet Cold Intake RD1222
$275.00
This intake makes the engine come live lots more power.

Have a the PERRIN crank pulley for the Subaru 2.5RS.
$129.00
This made the car have tons of more pulling power.

Have the DC Sports Titanium Strut Bar front and Rear.
$289.00 Front $389.00 Rear
Feels like a totally different Car.

Also have Two Black Grill craft top and bottom.
$149.00 Bottom Top $129.00
Makes the car look even more stealth

Things that I'm looking for are:

Cat Back Exhaust system for the 05 layout. Still can't find one yet.

And also good advice on what I can do to make more horsepower to my ride with out Turbo kits.

1. Any catback for 98-05 will fit just fine. Catbacks specifically for the 98-01 will also fit fine, but one hanger doesn't line up, an exhaust shop can change this for you if you want. I have the 98-01 Borla catback on my 05.

2. A basic single-nozzle dry nitrous kit works wonders on these cars. I saw a dyno chart posted on RS25.com of a car with a 65-shot dry kit on it, along with a baseline. The car picked up that entire 65 horsepower shot TO THE WHEELS. I wouldn't go over a 65 shot on the stock fuel system, but that's a big gain.

3. Think about a rear swaybar, either a FHI one from subarugenuineparts.com, or a Whiteline setup. boxer4racing.com has lots of options.

dont go nitrous you dont need the headaches if something bad happens

you paid 150 dollars for a piece of black mesh grill? could get that at home depot for like 5 bucks

catback basically anything out there is decent id recommend 2.25" piping i think it works best, but some like the 2.5"

for more power basically get some equal length headers whatever you chose, and get something to tune the car like the perfect power

Get some custom piping for the cat back. I guess you can find something cheaper, but a good shop isn't that expensive. If you want some real power look to your cars internals. I have the same year and model and I can tell ya it can get expensive for us NA's. It seems everyone caters to the turbos.

Not everyone does. TWE gives great NA support, and Cobb and Crawford also do NA work. But cams will run you $500 and headwork quickly moves into the thousands. A lot of us have used Delta Cams (by Comp) for $165 with good success if you don't want to pay "tuner" prices...

Every 2.5L non-turbo Impreza 99 and later is SOHC, as are 00+ n/a 2.5L engines in all other models.

Ya might aswell get the Kartboy shifter and bushings. Some ecu management perhaps, a throttle body spacer if they're still available. Tyres and all that other good stuff

Cobb catback is wonderful...very deep...hangers where they should be for the MY05...and resonated midpipe. They told me recently that a 2005 EL header and 2005 CAI will be available this year so I am waiting on the news from them.

Just saw this today: Cobb stuff for turbo cars [and maybe others to come] is being offered on boxer4racing's website for the first time. Maybe quicker turnaroundtime for orders/receipts?!

Good luck my friend...car is a blast everyday and does not break the bank!

small additional power would be nice. My question is there any company that makes a CARB legal header? My thing is engine response.

Not trying to jack the thread. Just thought i would add instead of making a new one.

i don't think anyone's gotten the CARB exemption- we aren't hondas and our market just isn't that large

but yeah, you shouldn't be looking for more than 20hp extra without nitrous or turbo, and with that kind of money you would have been better off with a wrx.

Ive searched for quite a bit now regarding the delta cams, but not really getting much. Id really just like a little review or at least a couple comments regarding the delta cams. Anyone?

but back on topic....Ralliteks PP wouldnt be too shabby...but I wouldnt add it until after most/all of the smaller mods, to get the most out of each.

I have delta cams on the way for my 05 RS. it'll be a couple weeks until they are in the car, but i'd be glad to give my opinion. Im trying to find a local dyno for a before and after, because I dont have time to drive forever to do it. If all else fails the butt dyno will have to be the test. BTW the price is up to like $94 each now.

If anyone wants to know, PM me because I will forget to reply here.

Delta cams work : period :

They are who thousands of people send their camshafts to for regrinds, and do work for comp cams, do a google search for comp cams and see what you get.

Delta cams are basically the equivilant of TWE or Cobb cams for about 1/4 the cost. Also, while your engine and shizzle is out if your really power crazy, and dont wanna turbo you shtuff, then have your cylander heads ported, mabe get high compression pistons put in, port your throttle body and intake manifold, then start fillin her w/ premium and hold on tight!

Oh yea, and buy a Perfect Power... Not sure how much power you'll be making, mabe 200 at the wheels with all that stuff I said, but I don't think much more than that.

If you can stand some noise, well lots of noise, get TWE headers and a Stromung 2.25" highflow cat and cat back.

I was really impressed at how much of a difference this setup made on my otherwise stock 2005 RS.

Dude if you really believe this, then all you need are a Tornado and an electric supercharger and you are good to go. $680 on strut bars Do yourself a favour and do some reading in the suspension forum.
Cheers,

damn straight. I couldn't believe how loud the TWE 4-2-1 header/hi flow cat and 2.25" stromung was when I first revved it up... Jeebus! although I can't tell ya how much more power it made. the car hasn't seen the road in months...
