![]() It's been discussed a little in this thread:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=892802 I just wanted a cooler front end and I found one. This is a fiberglass R33 replica front bumper for a 1995-1998 240SX (S14). It's only about .5" wider at the wheel arches than the BG and the contour along the front fits perfectly. I'm making a bumper support for mine on Friday and can post pics and maybe offer them to people who want some more options. www.raceonusa.com carries some of the best quality aero for the price, and I can get those parts cheaper than their listed price for anyone who is interested. I know aero isn't everyone's thing, but I thought I'd bring it up since it was relatively on-topic. |

![]() You can swap on an impreza front end, they will bolt right up, but you will need to trim the fender a little to match the arch of the legacy wheel well. I say do the RS lip that way you can use the bigger rally lights..

![]() Datsun 240 ZG bolt-on fenders fit anything. I'm a fan of the Erbuni face:

![]() I'm personally against this look, although our car and the 2.5's were somewhat similiar the lines of this bumper just dont follow our cars right, something doesnt fit and look right and I prefer the GT bumper.

![]() Well you will have problems if you just bolt it on and expect everything to fit 100%. If you truely want to put an Impreza bumper on a BD/BG, prepare to do some custom fab work to make it look decent

![]() So you can buy all these parts new from Subaru too. It’s not really that expensive but once you add up every little part and piece necessary it begins to snowball. Likely the best approach would be to gather of combination of both the new and used parts required. Even doing that you’d still probably have at least $500 bucks in it.
Is it worth it? To go from this: ![]() To this: ![]()
~Thinking about it (since I have a damaged front bumper-cover anyways)... ![]() |

![]() Anthony - My .02: That would destroy the look of what is by far the sweetest Leg in here. The only front end change to a BD that I've seen look good is the Greddy lip that cajual has. That being said, I think either change would kill the sleeper theme that you seem to be going with.

![]() ^^^^
Thanks for that point of view… For me this upgrade wouldn’t be entirely cosmetic. My whole thing is that I have a nasty crack/gash on my bumper-cover which makes my car look like piss… I started looking into getting it fixed and it appears it may be necessary to order a new bumper-cover, then paint match, etc. I would have fixed it long ago but I keep holding off as I toy with possible FMIC ambitions. The GT bumper is nearly impossible to stuff with a front-mount as it simply doesn’t have a large enough opening. So as it stands, I can’t upgrade to any larger turbo without addressing the IC situation, and I’m already pushing it with a 500cfm VF22. All this said, I have to buy a replacement bumper-cover anyway, and the only two OEM which are compatible and can accommodate a FMIC are the Outback or early RS ones like this… ~Still thinking about it and other alternatives… |

![]() Yeah, GotTurbo (the original author of this thread) has one stuffed behind the stock BD bumper and it looks fine. My problem with it however is the space is so limited, the actual IC core is rather small as a result. In comparison, my existing TMIC is probably of comparable size to this smaller FMIC.
I’m talking about a big(er) front mount. At some point I will be going 2.5 short-block which means larger turbo too. Probably a 20G~FG/Green sized and you just can’t run that on a TMIC. Like I said, I’m still looking at other options too. An AWIC would keep everything under the hood and out of site, but have yet to see a well manufactured kit that’s easily available… Who knows... it's a tough act to balance... I should just cut all the body panels up make it a track only car ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() that looks good on the RS, but I agree with Mitch about it ruining your sweet legacy.
I would say either get another stock bumper and cut the fines out, or find an aftermarket one with a similar or larger opening. I have always liked Hippo Sleek styling, come on anthony you are a high roller I know you want it ![]() Ben |

![]() I’m highly against aftermarket body kits. In fact I don’t think anybody does as good of a job as the manufacture. Aftermarket body kits look like an after-thought to the original design, which in fact is all they are. On that note, I too agree the Impreza front-end looks a bit “out of place” on the Legacy but it comes down to which looks worse; the Impreza front-end with adequate FMIC opening, or the GT bumper all hacked up for FMIC… ![]() Outback bumpers another option but it just looks goofy without the rest of the lower body cladding down the sides. [Edit] I think I need an intervention… This RS bumper is beginning to grow on me… ![]() ![]() |

![]() Could you run an FMIC that is tall and narrow more like the older Evo's in shape rather than shorter and wider?
It may keep it in the center, then run an aftermarket grill like Kraziken (slightly modified) that sticks a little forward so that the center of the bumper would be cut a bit, and the intercooler could stick up behind the grill if you needed more room. ![]() Last edited by UTCiv; 02-09-2006 at 06:42 PM. |

![]() well i think i might just get the jdm oand cut down the middle and strech it. the reason i was doing this is cause i wanta to go widebody. i needed to know if it worked. so we will see. my fmic is a lil small but for 5 psi not bad. the guy i got it from on a wrx motor had it at 15 psi no problem. so i wanta do alot more research before i go throught with it.
