Look what i got today.
I got my Injen knock off CAI from ebay today. This think looks schweet!!
I dig the gunmetal pipping. I think i might stick with the filter it came with. It looks to be of good quality. It's looks different from the ones i have seen. It has fins inside which looks pretty cool and will help direct a better flow of air.

The popular thing to happen to those filters is the center caps braking off. Had a friend's car suck that cap off and into the face of the turbo, fortunately it caused no damage.

Sweet
It does look sweet! I would spray that filter with the K&N red oil spray just to be sure its collecting. And how much was that thing? Regardless N/A mods are teh best.

the filter that came with my ebay intake looks like a k&n but there is NO center cap at all. Just some really fine metal screen. You can look thru it. It has since been covered with duct tape (ghetto yes, but I dont like the idea of the air coming in thru that part and being unfiltered)
that intake looks awesome. |

Yeah i wouldn't trust the filter on those eBay intakes as far as I could throw them (and I throw like a girl). But even if you buy a K&N/AEM/brand-name-quality filter with a similar connector, these eBay intakes are still dirt cheap compared to the name-brand intakes and so far from what I've seen, perform on-par with the best.

Looks like the bracket that you use to stabilize the intake by attaching it to the intake mainfold is on the wrong side. I only hope that is the only thing that won't match up, although that is going to put a lot of stress on things.

Also, looking at the OP's pic it doesn't look like that thing is going to fit at all. Looks like the "bend" from the TB to the fender isn't enough of a U. Looks like the pipe wants to go through the stut tower area, but I may be mistaken as the angle may be deceptive. Jared |

nah it'll fit. rotate the pic in your mind so that the opening is square with the bottom edge of the pic. The hanger will probably line up but I wouldnt be surprised if the tube itself rides a little high.

Only thing for me is the Air Suction Hose, Mine has been off for like 6 months now, I really can't see any effect it has on the car.

Yeah, I didn't know what car it was going on and I was basing this off of the wrong layout. Looks like it will fit fine.

Got it installed today. My highly tuned butt-dyno can feel a better throttle response.
Is the intake loud? I cant hear it over my exhaust. But i was told my car sounds better. |
