Default Header setup

I'm looking for an EL header setup with a high flow cat that will bolt up to the stock catback. Which headers will do this and not have any CEL issues?

Pretty much your only option is TWE headers with Stromung or RT high flow cat pipe.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, doesn't Cobb offer an HFC option?

Do these HFC pipes hook up to the stock catback with a donut gasket? Also do they have bungs?

Stromung has bungs. I've never actually seen a picture of the RT. As for the connection, the Stromung (from the pictures) appears to have the flared half-donut end on it. I know when I bolted up my catback to the stock cat, there was no gasket, just bolted directly up. From the pics on boxer4racing.com the stromung looks the same.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it's probably a pressed-in half-donut, so the answer to that part of your question is Yes.

The Stromung has bungs weled in. One is up front in the stock location (on my '05 RS anyway) and the rear one is on the cat itself which is nearer the end of the cat pipe. On my car this required me to solder in 4 wires of about 2ft in length to the rear sensor so it would reach.

It also has a flared end, well actually the pipe just extends past the flange on the cat pipe, and a donut gasket (a stock sized one by the look of it) fits in nicely. The stock cat back will join up ok.

With my TWE headers, I did notice a lot of metallic rattling noises with the Stromung cat. Since switching back to the stock cat I get less of that noise, but it's still there. I'm not sure what causes that noise yet.

Any of the above options are good. You will be happy with the power they make, and it will make the car feel much better. However, you will throw a CEL with any EQ header setup. So if you don't want a CEL you better stay with stock parts, or maybe even try a CEL fix, such as the MIL eliminator or an O2 extendor.
