I agree with flycaster, the more miles you put on it with a mild tune, the better... Waiting till Febuary will probably do wonders for the rings as far as seating goes...

If you think winters are bad out there when it snows, try it on the east coast... People do the same thing here... We haven't had anything other than flurries so far... It has been a very mild winter, so far... I am sure that will change soon enough...

Untill Febuary.........

sounds awesome ka mano - cant wait to see the final results -

We're definately going to hang out when I get back this summer - By that time I should have a build that may be able to hang with you haha. Your research and much trial and error has helped me gain knowledge on my future engine build - Thanks for helping out the scene, and I'm looking forward to you coming along for the west coast import tour this next summer!

talk to you soon!

Did you get my message about the 21st? I've got all weekend if you can make it here on Saturday Dustin will do the final mechanical bits and I'll do the tuning later Saturday OR Sunday.

Any chance this will work?

Cheers

Whoa... Is that on a hill or something? I can't tell by that camera angle. Serious slippage.

Yeah, it's on a slight slope, but it isn't steep at all...notice how the people could still walk. In some parts of the city it was so bad you couldn't even stand - the local news shot some footage where people were literally crawling around on their knees and/or flopping around like minnows. Real Keystone Cops stuff that would've been humorous if you didn't know they were getting hurt.

Huh, I was told that was 28th and Savior - guess they were wrong. Did you see the other video off KOIN? I kid you not, people could not keep their feet under them, and this was on a dead flat sidewalk. People were doing full-on bodyslams everywhere. Ouch.

Satisfaction report:

Man, it's so great to be driving again after a year of just transporting myself in the beater. Even at 13 psi, I love my subie!

. After almost 3K miles on this engine build, no oil consumption, no problems. .

Update:

Starting to build some excitement again...

Feb 9th, I'm back under the wrench for some minor fixes that we've been anticipating since the car was last handed off to me.

Feb 10th... it's show time!!

Mick and Tim will be clampin' it on the dyno and then we should see what this puppy can do.

Thanks, shvrdavid... the wait's almost over. In a few hours I'll be headed south to Portland. Dustin will be putting the finishing touches on it Friday and Tim and Mick will be tuning on Saturday.

Hoping to have some results to share very soon!

Thanks, guys. We did some preliminary pump runs last night... hit 400 horses and called it a night. That was 19.5 psi, so looks like we got some room to build some more power.

On the dyno right now, so...
...stay tuned!
