Default Tramontana @ 2006 Geneva Show

Tramontana @ 2006 Geneva Show

Tramontana World Premiere at Geneva

Production limited to 12 per year
A new luxury sports car has been born on the Spanish Costa Brava, a blend of traditional automobile philosophy and aircraft technology. The story of the new a.d. TRAMONTANA begins at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2005.

But seeing an a.d TRAMONTANA on the road will not be easy, as the European company will produce only 12 units a year. The Tramontana is not just another luxury sports car; it combines exclusivity and differentiation with the best materials and handmade production quality.

a.d TRAMONTANA revives certain features of long-forgotten classical marques. The other main source of inspiration for the Costa Brava-based company is none other than fighter planes, from which we have taken, for example, lateral intake vents and, in particular, the tandem-like position of the two seats, which allows optimal balance. Lovers of sports cars will appreciate the perfect weight symmetry offered by the position of the seats.

Each unit will be unique, as the production process will include a large amount of customer-specific requirements, from personalised inscriptions on the chassis to an ergonomical study of the client. But this is not all, as the car will also have a powerful mechanical selling point, its centrally mounted V12 engine with over 500 horsepower.

The chassis is made of aeronautical aluminium and was developed from scratch, contributing to a new structural system incorporating a non-deformable area with eight impact-absorption zones. These features provide a level of safety comparable to that a professional racing car.

The main and most important material used is carbon fibre, although it is worth noting that the insertions used are made from the finest materials in the world (carefully crafted wood, stainless steel and gold).

The wood, for example, is treated using an ancient Japanese natural lacquer process known as URUSHI.

Wow - that's pure s3x0r.

Screw the V12 and the 500hp though - with a weight of only 2000lbs, it would be perfect with just a 4-banger.
