Question 91 2.2 Valve Question??

Anyone know FOR SURE, whether the 2.2 in a 91 Legacy is an interference or non-interference type engine?? In the course of replacing the water pump, the timing belt broke, and the crank pulley bolt was frozen. Major battle to get the pulley off and screwed up the position of the crank vs. the cam pulleys. Couldn't find my book for a day and tried to guesstimate positions when I put the new belt on. Cranked it (slowly for about 30 seconds) and when it wouldn't start quit for the day. Found the book next day and got my timing marks all squared away and it fired right up, but with a lot of smoke (it has been sitting for awhile). So, after reading around, figured that if the engine is an interence type, I might have bent valves thanks to the cranking with it totally out of time. So, did I luck out and get a non-interference type engine? Or did I just screw myself? Thanks.

The EJ22 is NON-interference until 97.
