Default Intake for performance - Dyno Graphs please

Hi there!

Have anyone of you who installed an Intake in your subaru and did any dyno's, can you post them?

I am looking to replace my K&N Sports drop in filter and not sure if replacing the intake system would really make any different.

I would love to know how the car feels, especially for MAF suby's.

My car is MAF and have a similar setup to the 2005+ models.

there was something in scooby sport a while back showing some good increases with the injen or aem cai for the 05 i think. On previous years a after market intake did not do much but suposidly since the 05 got a little bit different stock intake set up it is suposed to actualy make a difference. look for a replica one on ebay some of them are actualy pretty good.

I have join one with the same talk, but no dyno's whatsoever. Not ecu from a software Dyno.

So it makes me wonder where the gains are and how much low end is lost.

The thing is, I haven't seen any conversions shows the diffs in the K&N sport filter and the cone one. i can put in my apexi filter and so a dyno, but I never had a stock filter.

I do not believe the manufacture sites until it is reproduce from the community.

I saw a mod in the subaru magazine, but the gains were marginal, but was compare to stock filter.

when I move to the K&N, my car rev a little easier. THe cone has more area. I wonder if you were attach a cone to the MAF sensor and shield that area, if it would be better than a intake kit.

I posted not to long ago that I was willing to test different intakes on a dyno but it didn't garner a whole lot of interest. I have one intake that I'm about to send back very soon.

Thats surprising. If you wasn't an old time poster, I would say you post the wrong part.

I would be interested to see how different intakes affected the AFR, Knock Correction, Timing and HP&TQ figures, especially on 05/06 models - MAF, since I have it and there are better to track suttle changes.

If you have any, you can PM me or post them.

Thanks

Try a search for Cobb intake sucks. There was a thread something like that about a month ago, from an unhappy Cobb CAI buyer that got a whopping 3hp from the rather expensive intake.

I did some research last night, because I think the stock system is very good.

So I research Blitz and K&N Filters and see that I can just replace my stock box. I just need to measure my map tube now, to make sure that K&N kits are the same size. Once there are, the box coming out.

I think the 05/06 have a nice setup w/ that big box @ the TB

I never believe in cobbs.

I guess I will have to wait and see a magazine doing a 06 mods, since my car is similar to that.

THere is a guy in Kuwait w/ one, but haven't heard back from him yet.
