Default 2005 2.5RS, Do they make headers for this car?

I'm looking for some headers for my car, but Do they even make it? I keep finding WRX/STI headers (will WRX fit???) And RS headers but for 99 and below RS nothing for the 05 RS...

Also what would be the best header to get for less than $700 ? How much HP gain could you get from a header?

Also DOWNpipes are for TURBO applications only correct?

Except some eq headers will hit your sub frame up front. Not sure which one (cobb?). There was a picture floating around that showed a dented in sub frame to make it work. I dont remember where though. I can find it if its important.

You are probably thinking of the TechWorks (TWE) header. I had one from TWE (direct from the company) and they dented my subframe without asking me first. I posted some pics over at Rallitek. It still buzzed/clanged like mad when making right hand turns (or was it left, I don't remember). I took it back and got a refund. They promised to replace my subframe some three months ago and stil nothing.

i did some searching and found that they have a borla replica on sale on ebay, but they are currently back ordered. Someone with a 05 2.5 wagon has them and posted a vid with sounds. sounds nice but he said there were some fittment issues.

So ANY TWE header that you buy they will have to dent the subframe?? Or just Equal Length TWE headers...What headers will sound the best?? I have a Blitz cat-back.. Also what headers will most likely give you the most power?

That Borla that someone said had fitment issues, is that the REPLICA borla that has fitment issues or just Borla itself?
Are there any known issues for installing a header in a car?

Wow I'm surprised at that. I have TWE headers on my '05 and they don't hit the subframe. Mine's a sedan though, not a wagon, so it might be different.

any unequal length headers will emphasize the boxer sound. but the equal length produce a small amount more power.

The ebay ones are like 200 bucks...how can u go wrong?

Most people who have it, say they like it. There is always the ebay route but cheaper is not always better. RalliTEK provides a warranty with their parts and great technical support. I am a RalliTEK customer and parts are yet to be installed. I have a 06 OBS and will be the first one to have the RalliTEK equal length header to be installed on for a 06 2.5i. I will give a review in two weeks.

So you are saying the equal length headers are good for the boxer sound but not for power?

Dude, calm down. He said 2.5i, not 2.5l or 2.5L or 2.5 litre. The new impreza is called the 2.5i. No more RS. Just relax. As for why you bought Rallitek headers is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big supporter of Rallitek, and their products, but if you have an 06 OB, then your car already has eq headers from the factory. The only difference in the two could be pipe diameter. Other than that they are probably damn near the same power wise.

05s and 06s have diff designs, there are no headers available for the 06 not like you need one it comes stock with decent equal length and make good power

now you have to make a choice with your 05 do you want to make the most power or a better noise? best noise are the borlas or the borla knockoffs(i have had both and no fitment issues and good noises), now most power are equal length such as cobb, obx, rallitek...im not as found of the noises these make but will make more power... with these though you will need another piece to connect to the catback

you can get a catless pipe or a high flow cat pipe, i recommend the second option, which most providers should have or get a custom one made (i know obx and rallitek are catless, cobb has an option for the HFC but cobb is overpriced)

Dude, why don't you worry about your car and let me worry about my car. I did state 2.5i not 2.5l if you read my post. Do you know what I going to do with my car, NO!! I have been modifying cars since the early 90s and have owned 4 cars and been driving for over 15 years.
