Post Outback Tire Size Survey

I am looking to purchase *summer* tires (I have a set of Blizzaks on now).

I am planning on keeping the stock rims (for $$ reasons), But 16" tire sizes will be useful for reference.

What I am looking for is what sizes and tires people have successfully used on MY96-99 Outback wagons (or unsuccessfully as the case may be). I will put up a table correlating the results on my web site (and make it available to other sites as well. Tire brand/model preferences to follow (since many will be eliminated by size).

****I do not know if the clearance is the same for Outbacks and standard Legacys****

According to my dealer, it is, as far as strut clearances go, the clearance is the same for Outbacks and standard Legacys. So all you GT owners, lets hear from you too!

please include tire brand/model, as some may fit at the same size others don't

These are all within 2% of stock diameter

I put 205/75/15 Michelin Rainforce MX4's on the stock rims and one in the back (it fits if you let the pressure down a bit).

Not much of a stretch from the original tires as far as size goes, but these are much better gripping tires and are very fun in the rain.
