Any idea on horsepower for the 1.8? I checked this car out at the LA Auto Show and was very impressed, just not enough power.

Interesting design, just wondering where the rest of it is... The car looks taller than it is long or wide.

First it said it's a new engine and second that's way too powerful and expensive of a engine for a econo car like that. It could be a derivative of the 1ZZ which makes 140 hp & 125 ft-lbs in the Celica GT and 130 hp & 125 ft-lbs in the Corolla. The previous Yaris T Sport (Vitz RS for the GT4 fans) only has a 1.5L engine that puts out 108 hp. The new Yaris only weights in at 2300-2400 lbs so the 140 hp version would be more than enough for a econo hot hatch. |

That is pretty cool looking.
I agree that it will probably be powered by the 1ZZ (which is built about 200 ft to the left of me ). I'll definitly check this out. It looks like it would be a cool little commuter and I could convince the finacee that this practical car would be perfectly complimented w/ an e30 M3. ~~Quentin |
