Question Difference between 91 and 92 Turbo Legacys??

I wanted to know what are the differences if any between a 91 and 92+ Turbo?. I know that the 91 has different lights and a rather dull interior, but are there any engine, tranny, suspension, performance differences? and is anyone of them better than the other? The reason i ask is that i've seen a couple 91's out there and they look different from the 92+ models,I'm really just curious thats all. I recently just found a 91 w/176,000km asking $5900 and its a 5spd, does this sound good?

Nd4spd, as you mentioned the 91's had different headlights and corner lights, different front fenders(because of corner lights) different hood, different grille, different front bumber, different rear tail light cluster, and no marker lights on the front fenders.

Performance wise they are practically identical. According to the Subaru parts books, the 91's had a rear LSD, a 19mm rear sway bar(vs an 18mm used on the later ones), and an water-to-oil oil cooler that came stock(the same one Impreza owners are now buying and fitting). If that is $5900 Canadian money, it sounds like a decent deal, simply because they are tough to find. Good luck.

On the LSD issue, Mike at SPD said only about 400 or so got in the US with the LSD, though it's hard to say how accurate that is.

If you are interested, clean off the rear diff housing, carefully, and there should be some kind of markings to let you know if it is.

Otherwise, get it! 5-speed Turbos are hard to find.

I dunno, I don't really like the different exterior the 91's have and the plain interior, plus I think this guy has been trying to sell it for awhile, maybe theres something wrong with it. On top of that i still have to sell my car and with my luck this guy will sell the Legacy just before I sell my car, I'll be stuck carless and i need a car to get to work.
But then again Turbo 5 spds are hard to find.
