Default Newbie Q: Compression Ratio / Driveability relationship?

My 4eat WRX is for daily driving, no auto-x, no race, no drag.
I already have UP, DP, Ecutek, TC, VB, and I am thinking about 2.5 shortblock and VF34.

My question is, is "Lower engine Compression Ratio (C/R) + Higher turbo boost" application only good for top-end? In other words, is "Higher engine C/R + Lower turbo boost (as low as if the EGT is at safe level)" application good for low to mid-end power?

If that's the case, what kind of C/R I should look for, to be using with VF34 and have wonderful driveability? Again, it is for daily driving A/T WRX.
