Default Pavillions.... Beware

The event people have decided to ban all japanese imports. We were asked to leave tonight. I am getting all the info togther for everyone to express there complants.

The police were ordering people to leave. The Mc Donolds crew that run the show were very rude about it to us.

This isn't the first time that they have done this. Maybe the Importers can get a different location to hold an Import Show. The thing I see that will most likely get it shot down will be inregards to the younger kids.

Here is one of the numbers to call.

You might not like the place but a phone call would greatly help.
call 480-367-9500, extension 226

Now The rules list posted on there website do not say no imports. Nor what they handed me tonight. So I kinda think someone is picking on us.

Heres the website and the rules... We have always been nice to event people and others.

Part of me doesn't blame them - considering the steady decline in the, uh, quality of the crowd and behavior there over the past several years.

On the other hand, there are respectful and mature import owners that should be able to bring their cars and have a good time.

Ultimately, if the people running the show are only able to keep things under control by banning imports, then that's their decision.

It's too bad, though. I remember going to the show 10 years ago and seeing 99% classic American cars, lots of old guys, and no mandress-wearing tools yelling and flashing gang signs across the parking lot at the guy with the pink Accord wagon on hydraulics trying to catch the bushes on fire with his exhaust.

Maybe we can make a Subaru-only exception?

I am sending out e-mails to McD's and the property owners.
Discrimination big time. Hell they let the kids with bicycles hang. Not us. I also called a friend that works for a local news channel. He was very interested.

The show is a marketing hit for McD's. They want to use the "ricer " crowd in there selling ads on T.V. But are now tuning them/Customers away based on what they drive. They dont want any bad news about them or there show. Sence they sponser the show. Thats bad publicity for them.
I am going to make it a point to get this across to them.

No where does it say or is it posted that they reserve the right to kick anyone out. Nor does it say or posted that its a american car show only.

It would be nice to have our own spot for a reoccuring meet. Anyone here own/manage a business we could hang out at, with permission to be there?

I was in the AZFBA for 2 years (and went to UTI for that time) and went to the pavillions almost every week. I can tell you with 100% certainty that most (99%) of the import kids there were NOT from UTI - most of them probably weren't even out of high school yet.

If the imports must go, then the imports must go, but don't blame it on the one group of young kids that actually has respect for the car culture.

Well seeing as there is no "american car company thats cars are made in america other than TOYOTA and HONDA that has a 100% built car in america right now...

i guess everything but the toyota truck and the civic gets to leave...

lol

BTW half the kids at UTI are idiots and I would support the fact that they ruined it. there are ALOT more idiots coming to UTI now-a-days than you think..

At least I graduate on friday mawhahhaha

evertime I have been at the Pavs, the American car crowd has been just as bad as the import crowd, Reving motors, burnouts, etc.

if you watch, it is mostly the late model domestic cars. like the chrysler wannabe to broke to buy a bently and still payin on the dubs owners. the lifted trucks guys. the mustang and camaro owners. I used to have a camaro and I did not like the group. they are all pricks.

like said before, go buy something from Mcdonalds, if they ask you to leave, you are a paying customer to the local merchants. And they have to have a reason to kick you out. if you are sitting infront of your car with other people having a conversation not disturbing others, they do not have the right to kick you out. unless you are sitting next to a sign that says no loitering if you own an import. you know they wont kick the mini club out.
