Post Legacy brakes/oil pressure

Hi everyone. First time poster - go easy .

I have a six-month old Liberty RX sedan, which - for those I've just confused the hell out of - is the Australian equivalent of half-way between a US Legacy GT and GT LTD. It's a '99, which is the same shape as the '00 in the States (we got 'em early down here).

Although I can forgive the car some sins as it is very early in the production run (it was in the first batch to be imported to Oz), it has two main faults: grumbling front brakes, especially when warm, and an intermittently faulty oil pressure sensor. The oil pressure warning light comes on when the engine is at low revs (<1500) and pointing downhill, more often than not. The dealer cannot find a fault with it, but it worries me even so (will it work when I really *do* have no oil pressure?).

Does anyone have experiences of this? I appreciate that local variations of the car may be the reason for the grumbling brakes (harder pads?), but any thoughts would be welcome.
